Arm & Hammer PLUS Oxi Clean with POWER gel...

This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Arm & Hammer.

When I was asked to give a review on a new cleaning product I jumped at the chance! I mean our tribe LOVES to get dirty! I may not like it but they sure do! Living in a rural area with dirt roads does not help the situation either! If it's not the good old outdoors then it's the food that misses their mouth or better yet the stuff they get into that dirties them up! This morning they did just that! They got into the bottle of ketchup! They must have thought it was SO cool to squirt the entire bottle all over the coffee table & then wipe it on their clean shirts! I have no idea who the instigator was but three of the four had some majorly soiled shirts! Oh how I dislike stains on clothes! Lucky for me I had just received my bottle of Arm & Hammer PLUS Oxi Clean with POWER gel to use! I immediately grabbed the bottle & poured some on the spots. I did not soak them, I just loaded them in the washer & let the product do it's magic! As you can tell by my pictures they got the ketchup EVERYWHERE! By looking at those stains one would think they were ruined but NO the stains came out! Here is a BEFORE photo of them with the ketchup stained shirts in all their glory!

We happen to have a HE front loader & I just used a cap full! Trust me, as a mom of three year old quadruplets who get into EVERYTHING dirty I should know! So needless to say we do MANY loads of laundry in this household! I really like this product especially when you want to get your clothes clean & bright PLUS you do not have to use a ton of detergent in your washer! With the economy struggling every cent saved is well worth it!

The types of stains that they always seem to get is either from chocolate milk, dirt or now KETCHUP! You can tell in my pictures that they wiped it all over their shirts. Oh My! I told you they LOVE to get dirty! Some mothers would just throw the shirts out and not even attempt to clean it or use some other product that just does NOT do the job!

But NO I just put some of the Arm & Hammer PLUS Oxi Clean with POWER gel on the stains & then threw it into the wash with all our other clothes, I of course added some more into the detergent dispenser for the rest of the load & then let it do it's magic! When a cleaning product does it's job and takes the stains out I am one happy mommy!

I cannot tell you how many times I fill our washing machine up like the picture above! Filled up with DIRTY clothes! That is why I am SO psyched to have found a quality product that keeps our clothes clean! Even better it keeps our whites WHITE! Having the added benefit of getting more use out of their clothes we have gives me the warm & fuzzies! That in itself makes all the difference in the world!

Check out their shirts AFTER washing them with Arm & Hammer PLUS Oxi Clean with POWER gel! They are SO darn clean you would never even know that they had an encounter with a bottle of ketchup would you? They also smell good too! I just LOVE that!

I would LOVE to know what outdoor activity causes you the biggest problems with your laundry! Do your kids get so dirty you do not think they could ever get clean? 2. I enjoyed reading your review as well as looking at the stained clothes: makes me feel normal!! With a 5 year old boy and 3 year old twin girls, we have our fair share of stains around here!! But as Jen B. said, it is always a good time!!

  6. Grass stains are the worst. They get very ground in and are hard to remove.

  7. Wow! Those pics are amazing. I might need to get me some of this. :)I don't think I can pick just one activity. So many cause me grief - soccer, riding bikes, playing in the grass - and then the inside ones - cooking is the worst (and then of course, eating!)

  13. my kids like to "dip" like there's no tomorrow! unfortunately, all the dip (ketchup, BBQ sauce, ranch) ends up on their sleeves and shirts and i'm developing carpal tunnel as a result of spraying all their clothes with a pre-treater! With 4 two year olds and 2 adults in the house, my trigger finger is SORE!

    Nice review, Cathy........

  14. Great review! I read it earlier this week on my iPhone, but kept forgetting to come back and comment. Our biggest issue is spit up! Even on our clothes it's ridiculous, but I'll definitely give this stuff a try! The arm and hammer we have is different so I'm excited to try it out!

  15. I don't have kids, but can still make a mess myself! I like to cook and eat and something often spills or splatters and needs a quick clean-up. I've been wondering about all the different Oxi type cleaners and haven't noticed this Arm & Hammer Power Gel before. Looks like it gets the job done! Great review!

  19. Well, I have 2 teens and one 5 year old. Out behind the chicken pens, we have a littel race track where they ride their 4wheeler and the dirt bike. You can't imagine the mud that covers them from head to toe after a ride. There usually isn't a square inch that isn't covered with dirt spatter. Getting that much mud and muck on their clothes almost guarantees the garments won't becoming clean. Would love to have something that can take on those tough stains.

  20. Both of my kids are dirt and food magnets. My 19 month old daughter loves smearing food on herself from head to toe, and my son can find a mud puddle a mile away.

  55. My laundry woes actually come from the biggest kid of all...my husband. While my four children give him a run for the money..my husband can't seem to remember to change into grunge clothes before attempting any outdoor projects and has subsequently ruined almost every decent t-shirt he owns.

Mr. Frugal feels it necessary to change the oil in our cars himself...just like he did yesterday. Yes, that's him on a normal weekend underneath his truck on his back in our driveway changing the oil. While most of the used oil ends up in old gallon milk jugs on our garage shelf (Mr. Frugal is often lazy when it comes to disposal of old oil)..quite a bit of it also ends up on his t-shirts.

You'll find me, chained to the washing machine in the basement concocting potions out of laundry soap, pre-treater, water, vinegar, lemon juice, or baking soda and scrubbing his t-shirts with an old toothbrush (although I've often dreamed of grabbing his new one from our bathroom) and muttering obscenities under my breath while I scrub out the stains.

Thanks for the opportunity to vent...you probably saved his life today.
